Thousands Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
